Day 1 - Summer Break 2017
Summer Break officially started yesterday at about 5:33 p. m. after I almost thoroughly cleaned and packed my classroom. So did I spend my first day of student-free time? I took Grace to her hair appointment. I dropped off some books to the local used bookstore and traded them for some new titles I think my 6th graders will like. I'm already planning a friends, family and surviving middle school book clubs for the fall. I made plans for my hair appointment, a farewell brunch with colleagues and one of a few doctor's appointments I needed to schedule. I began to research my and Grace's trip to Culinary Institute of America in July. Still trying to decide if we should drive or take the train and travel in one day or take two days. And of course, I made a list with 27 items I'd like to complete this summer. And 27 is just as far as I've gotten today! Tomorrow is another day.
